Concert in Oswego to raise funds for breast cancer support

The village of Oswego will host the Pouring for Pink: Breast Cancer Benefit Concert from 2 to 7:30 pm on October 12 at Venue 1012 at 1012 Station Drive in Oswego.

The inaugural event, presented by TR Miller Heating, Cooling and Plumbing, will feature live music along with a selection of wine and other beverages, according to a press release about the concert.

Pouring for Pink will feature performances by two tribute bands: Billy Elton performing the hits of Billy Joel and Elton John from 2:45 to 4:45 pm and Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting Breast Cancer Support Services.

A special celebration for breast cancer survivors will take place at 4:50 p.m., where survivors will share their stories, according to the release.

Doors will open at 2pm, with a variety of drinks available for purchase. Food vendors will also be on site. Participants can also bring their own food and chairs, but outside beverages are not allowed, officials said in the release.

During the event, 10% of net ticket and wine sales will benefit three organizations: Waterford Place, The Edward Foundation and the American Cancer Society. These funds will directly contribute to breast cancer support services, according to the release.

Pouring for Pink is a new event and distinct from other wine events produced in the country, officials said. Wine glasses — 5-ounce servings — will be available for individual purchase only, and this year’s event will not include wine tasting packages or one-ounce servings.

Tickets for those 13 and older are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Those taking advantage of the Ticket for Two offer can get two tickets for $25 in advance or $35 at the door.

Active military members and veterans can enter for $10, with a Ticket for Two option for $15.

Those 12 and younger will enter the event for free.
